People Worldwide Wore Yellow For Seth

Friday after I got off work, I did my normal routine of logging onto all my social media sites, and I noticed that something had gone viral. On Instagram, Facebook and Twitter I was seeing pictures of people wearing yellow, along with the hashtag “#WearYellowForSeth”. After that, I logged onto Snapchat, and one of the Snap stories that popped up also said, “Wear Yellow For Seth,” and it was videos from people all over the world wearing yellow and sending well wishes to this little boy named Seth.

I wanted to find out who Seth was, and what his story was, and it didn’t take much research to figure it out. All I had to do was type “Seth” into my Google search engine, and there it was: Seth’s story. Seth Lane is 5 years old and doesn’t have an immune system, which causes him to spend most of his time in a huge bubble to protect him from the world, a real life bubble boy.

He is in desperate need of a second bone marrow transplant, and to help raise awareness of his condition, with the help of his mom, he posted a video that has gone viral. In the video he asks everyone to show support and help raise awareness by wearing yellow on March 27th and hashtagging #WearYellowForSeth, and that’s exactly what people across the world did. Normal people, celebrities, pets, babies, fire stations, pilots, news stations, college sororities, fraternities, anyone and everyone was wearing yellow for Seth. Seth’s mom was showing Seth the pictures that popped up under the hashtag as well as posting them to his website, wearyellowforseth.com!

You can see all the pictures, videos, tweets and sweet messages there as well as finding out how you can help Seth. Of course I had to join in and post a picture of my cat, Chuck, along with a yellow beanie and my hashtag, #WearYellowForSeth.
